The Junction

Just north of the High Park North community and east of Runnymede, The Junction is a family-oriented neighbourhood. It’s also home to plenty of young couples and professionals who enjoy the energetic atmosphere and short commute to downtown. The strong sense of community is tangible, with many events held in the neighbourhood, lively independent businesses like cafes, restaurants, and design studios lining the streets, and active residents. Residents in The Junction are close to green spaces like High Park and Humber River, great for outdoor enthusiasts.

Beautiful, sizable century homes are found  mostly in the southern end of The Junction. There are plenty of converted homes with multiple units, as well as smaller Victorian homes in the northern end of the neighbourhood.

High Park

Named after the park this neighbourhood abuts, High Park is a sought after west end neighbourhood, mostly home to established Toronto families. Also filtering into the area are young couples and singles who appreciate the abundance of real estate and lifestyle opportunities.  High Park residents are usually nature enthusiasts and active people, who take advantage of the wildlife and athletic amenities available in the nearby park. Summer in High Park is marked by several anticipated outdoor events in the park—from festivals to live entertainment. High Park is excellently served by transit and well-designed for cyclists.

Large single-family homes sit on calm, tree-lined streets in High Park. Architectural styles include Tudor, Edwardian and Victorian homes built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Properties in High Park retain much of their character, with original features like hardwood trim and fireplaces. You’ll also find some high-rise rental apartments and condo buildings in the area.

Bloor West

Steps from Toronto’s largest park, High Park, Bloor West is a bustling corridor with a lively demographic and seemingly endless retail, culinary, and entertainment options. Stretching from Runnymede to Swansea, Bloor West is a well-kept, picturesque area of the west end. There are 400 businesses catering to local residents, with independent boutiques and big-name stores offering every kind of good, service, and amenity you could need. Known as “the village in the city”, Bloor West is a tight-knit community loved by families. Schools are walking distance from most homes and the residential streets are quiet enough for kids to play outside.

Real estate in Bloor West consists mostly of detached and semi-detached single-family homes on wide lots and tree-lined streets. Most of these properties were built in the early 20th century. There are very few high rises within Bloor West.

Swansea

Surrounded on three sides by natural borders—Lake Ontario to the south, Humber River to the west, and High Park to the east—Swansea is a charming neighbourhood with hilly topography, a lush canopy of trees, and impressive real estate. Most residents are affluent, established families and white-collar professionals. Right by Bloor West and High Park, Swansea is close to all the west end has to offer.

In Swansea you’ll find a range of property types available. Single-family detached bungalows and semi-detached properties populate the core of the neighbourhood. Southern Swansea is home to low and mid-rise condos, as well as newer high-rise buildings and townhomes.

Roncesvalles

A popular neighbourhood among young, well-to-do families, Roncesvalles is just east of High Park, and north of Parkdale. A tight-knit community known for its Eastern European influence, some of these original families still remain in the neighbourhood. Characterized by the blending of old and new, Roncesvalles is home to trendy restaurants, cafes, and boutiques, as well as old school butchers, delis, and European retailers. Dog-friendly, populated with parks, close to High Park and the lakeshore, Roncesvalles is perfect for nature-lovers.

Homes in Roncesvalles are mostly lined along the side streets, and comprise attached or semi-detached properties. There are few detached homes in the neighbourhood. The Victorian and Edwardian builds feature charming porches and lush gardens. Some newer condo buildings are also available.
